Hi everyone! One of our players, Lawrence Long, is appearing in the Jeopardy! Champions Wild Card tournament tonight. Congrats and good luck Lawrence!!

New players: Welcome! For division placement, you can either: 1. play the preseason quizzes (linked below) and I will slot you in a division based on your results (please do this before completing today's quiz if you choose this option), or 2. simply start with this week's quizzes and I will place you in Freshman-B by default.

Rabbit test

No photo description available.

The rabbit test (a.k.a. Friedman test) was a pregnancy test developed in 1931. The rabbit test was similar to an earlier test that injected a woman’s urine into female mice to determine pregnancy. The ovaries of the mouse would reliably enlarge if the woman was pregnant, and the same principle was used in the rabbit test. Each rabbit was dissected a few days after injection to determine the size of its ovaries. The common use of this bioassay (animal-based test) led to the euphemism “the rabbit died” to refer to a positive pregnancy test, even though in actuality all rabbits used for the tests died. The critically derided 1978 movie Rabbit Test, about the world’s first pregnant man, was written and directed by Joan Rivers and starred Billy Crystal in his feature film debut.
