New players: Welcome! For division placement, you can either: 1. play the preseason quizzes (linked below) and I will slot you in a division based on your results (please do this before completing today's quiz if you choose this option), or 2. simply start with this week's quizzes and I will place you in Freshman-B by default.

Crash test dummy

Female Crash Test Dummies Don't Survive The Crash? | The Mary Sue

A crash test dummy is an anthropomorphic test device (abbreviated ATD) used to simulate the injuries sustained by the human body during a traffic collision. Modern crash test dummies have hundreds of sensors measuring the physical forces exerted on each part of the body. Created in 1949 to test aircraft ejection seats, the first crash test dummy was named “Sierra Sam.” From 1986 to 1999, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ran a series of public service announcements featuring talking crash test dummies named Vince and Larry. Aimed at increasing seatbelt usage, the spots used the slogan “You can learn a lot from a dummy.” Crash Test Dummies are a Canadian rock band best known for their lead singer’s distinctive deep vocals and the hit song “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm,” which “Weird Al” Yankovic parodied in the song “Headline News.”
