Hi everyone! Season 21 reminder emails went out today (check your spam folder). You have through Monday to get those quizzes in before I finalize the results.

New players: Welcome! For division placement, you can either: 1. play the preseason quizzes (linked below) and I will slot you in a division based on your results (please do this before completing today's quiz if you choose this option), or 2. simply start with this week's quizzes and I will place you in Freshman-B by default.

A litmus test is used in chemistry to check the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Blue litmus paper will turn red in an acidic solution (less than 7 on the pH scale), while red litmus paper turns blue in a basic (alkaline) solution (greater than 7 on the pH scale). Litmus is a mixture of reactive dyes extracted from lichens (plant-like symbiotic organisms that grow on rocks and trees). “Litmus test” is now used to describe any test with a single decisive factor. One example of this is in the world of politics, where a “litmus test” refers to a crucial question posed to a potential candidate for high office, often the U.S. Supreme Court. Politicians can use the promise of litmus tests to signal their intentions to appoint judges who agree with their party on a given issue. Though the term “litmus test” in this context was once used pejoratively to suggest closed-mindedness, with Democrats and Republicans agreeing that they were a bad idea for judicial nominees, the practice has been more widely embraced by both parties in recent years.

NOTE: THIS IS A 50/50 QUIZ — EVERY CORRECT ANSWER IS EITHER “RED” OR “BLUE”
