Season 27, Day 17 - "Happy Birthday Day"
It's Party week, and today's quiz is inspired by The Birthday Party.
The Birthday Party
The Birthday Party is an absurdist play by Harold Pinter. The British playwright’s first full-length play, it’s also one of his most well-known and frequently performed works. It’s about a birthday party at a rundown boarding house that’s interrupted by the arrival of two sinister strangers. The Birthday Party has been called a “comedy of menace,” a term coined by drama critic Irving Wardle as a play on “comedy of manners,” a satirical genre of the Restoration period that was revived by Oscar Wilde with Lady Windermere’s Fan and The Importance of Being Earnest.
