Season 27, Day 19 - "Maneater"
It's Party week, and today's quiz is inspired by the Donner Party.
Donner Party
The Donner Party was a group of California-bound pioneers who were trapped by heavy snowfall in the Sierra Nevadas in the winter of 1846-1847. Out of the 87 members of the party, only 48 survived the ordeal, with some of them having resorted to cannibalism. The group departed from Independence, Missouri on the Oregon Trail in the spring of 1846, but made the mistake of taking a new route called the Hastings Cutoff. The Sierra Nevada mountain pass where the pioneers were stranded is now named Donner Pass in their honor.
