Season 27, Day 2 - "There Will Be Blood"
It's Pirate week, and today's quiz is inspired by Captain Blood.
Captain Blood
“It’s the world against us and us against the world!”
Captain Blood is a 1935 swashbuckler film. Based on the Rafael Sabatini novel of the same name, it was directed by Michael Curtiz (Casablanca) and starred Olivia de Havilland (Gone with the Wind), Basil Rathbone (Sherlock Holmes in 14 movies), and Errol Flynn as the title character (Curtiz, Flynn, de Havilland, and Rathbone reunited for another swashbuckler, The Adventures of Robin Hood). In Captain Blood, an Irish doctor named Peter Blood is forced to become a pirate after he is imprisoned in the West Indies for aiding a wounded rebellion participant. Errol Flynn’s first time playing a swashbuckler (a swaggering, adventurous swordsman), Captain Blood established him as a major star and successor to silent film swashbuckler Douglas Fairbanks.
