Queen Mab

Queen Mab is the queen of the fairies in English and Welsh folklore. She is described in a speech by Mercutio in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet as “the fairies’ midwife” who brings sleeping men their dreams. Queen Mab is also the title subject of a long poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley that’s broken down into nine cantos. Queen Mab is also mentioned in works by Ben Jonson, John Milton, and Robert Herrick.
