Season 28, Day 17 - "Lace Up!"
It's "Queen" week, and today's quiz is inspired by Queen Anne's lace.
Queen Anne’s lace
Queen Anne’s lace (a.k.a. Daucus carota) is a weed with lacy white flowers. It is also known as “wild carrot” (the common domesticated carrot is a subspecies). Queen Anne’s lace was named for Queen Anne, the British monarch from the early 1700s who succeeded her father, James II. Some say the dark red flower in the center represents a drop of Anne’s blood from pricking her finger while tatting lace. Queen Anne’s lace is similar in appearance to poison hemlock.
