Season 30, Day 4 - "O' Man!"
It's Sweet week, and today's quiz is inspired by "Sweet Child O' Mine."
“Sweet Child O’ Mine”
“Sweet Child O’ Mine” is a song by the American rock band Guns N’ Roses. Appearing on the band’s debut studio album Appetite for Destruction, it was their only number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The lyrics were inspired by Erin Everly, daughter of one of the Everly Brothers and lead singer Axl Rose’s girlfriend at the time. The famous opening riff, played by the band’s lead guitarist Slash, was once voted the #1 riff of all-time by readers of Total Guitar magazine. Movies featuring Sweet Child O’ Mine include The Wrestler, Step Brothers, The Big Short, and Thor: Love and Thunder, whose trailer propelled the song to #1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart nearly 35 years after its release. Sheryl Crow’s version, used in the Adam Sandler movie Big Daddy, was cited by Rolling Stone readers as the fourth worst cover ever (though it did win Crow a Grammy).
